2023 IACE

2023-06-10

On May 31, 2023, the 15th China International Advanced Ceramics Exhibition IACE CHINA 2023 was held as scheduled in the Shanghai World Expo Exhibition Hall. It is reported that this exhibition adopts the “4+8” model, and has set up four major themed exhibition areas of “powder metallurgy cemented carbide”, “advanced ceramics”, “magnetic materials” and “additive manufacturing”. More than 100 keynote reports in 8 high-quality forums, including advanced ceramics, electronic ceramics, magnetic materials, additive manufacturing, hard surface technology, and powder processing, and nearly 20 technical exchange meetings, focusing on displaying and sharing various new products, New technologies, new achievements, new experiences.

What is ceramic material?

Ceramic materials generally have a high melting point (mostly above 2000°C), and have excellent chemical stability at high temperatures; the thermal conductivity of ceramics is lower than that of metal materials, and ceramics are also good heat insulating materials. At the same time, the coefficient of linear expansion of ceramics is lower than that of metals, and ceramics have good dimensional stability when the temperature changes.

Engineered ceramics are increasingly used in commercial and military aircraft, and were used in the space shuttle and its equipment many years ago.

Applications for ceramics include thermal protection systems in rocket exhaust stacks, insulation tiles for space shuttles, engine components and ceramic coatings embedded in aircraft windshields. These coatings are transparent and conductive, keeping fog and ice clear of the glass.

Ceramic fibers are used as protection systems for fire protection and insulation in aircraft and space shuttles because they are heat-resistant, lightweight and non-corrosive. Other excellent properties include high melting temperature, high resilience, high tensile strength and chemical inertness.

The non-oxide ceramic known as silicon nitride has excellent high temperature strength, excellent fracture toughness, high hardness and unique tribological properties. Silicon nitride aerospace applications yield excellent mechanical reliability and wear resistance, allowing components to be used with minimal lubrication without wear. These parts include jet engines’ igniters, bearings, bushings and other wear parts.

Ceramic and glass materials are used in a wide range of biomedical applications, from bone implants to biomedical pumps. Dentistry has also advanced ceramic teeth, which can be matched to a patient’s natural teeth and other applications for improving the patient’s smiling dilemma. In the future, ceramics will find applications in genetic engineering and tissue engineering.

Moresuperhard brought ceramic grinding discs, vitrified diamond grinding wheels, resin diamond grinding wheels, cutting discs, internal grinding and other high-precision diamond tools to the exhibition.

The exhibition site is extremely hot, and our booth (H2-E717) has a constant flow of people. It has attracted high attention and recognition from production and processing enterprises such as ceramic components, magnetic materials, and hard alloys. Through exchanges and discussions with many interested customers, it provides them with professional solutions.

Our exhibit focused on the application of diamond grinding wheels for the precision grinding of ceramic workpieces. We demonstrated various types of diamond grinding wheels that we produce, including resin bond diamond wheels, vitrified bond diamond wheels, and metal bond diamond wheels.

Throughout the exhibition, we were pleased to welcome a diverse range of attendees, including professionals from the ceramics industry, researchers, and interested members of the public. We were excited to share our knowledge and expertise with attendees, and to see the growing enthusiasm for our diamond grinding wheels.

We were pleased to have opportunities to engage in discussion and collaboration with other participants at the exhibition. We found that many attendees were interested in developing further applications for our diamond grinding wheels, particularly in fields such as aerospace and biomedical engineering.

Furthermore, we were thrilled to have the opportunity to attend workshops and seminars from other exhibitors, expanding our understanding of advanced ceramical materials.

Overall, the 2023 Shanghai Advanced Ceramics Exhibition was an invaluable opportunity to showcase our latest developments in diamond grinding wheels and to gain further insight into the exciting and growing field of advanced ceramics. We look forward to further collaborations in the future.
